For IDCCA President Kristina Zahorik, creating a 102-county strategy isn’t simply a talking point – it’s the foundation of building Democratic success throughout Illinois. It’s also why Zahorik has spent the past weeks travelling throughout the state to listen and strategize with IDCCA members and their partners.

Zahorik has already put thousands of miles on her car to reach out to motivated Democrats. She’s sat down in Rock Island County, broke bread in Peoria County and discussed strategy in Christian County. And, she’s been to lots of counties in between.

“I’m volunteering my efforts full time, traversing the state and keeping my ear to the phone to learn what matters most to our fellow Democrats,” Zahorik says. “Regionally, there are differences. But when it comes to Democratic Party values and community challenges, we’re pretty much the same. I believe that. Not because somebody told me, but because I’m experiencing it first-hand.”

Throughout her travels, Zahorik has had the chance to get to know her fellow County Democratic Party Chairs more personally. She’s also been sharing her vision and our party’s values with the media. Most recently, she sat down with IDCCA friend Kitty Kurth who hosts the Girl Pundits podcast. If you’ve not had the chance to take a listen, stop delaying.

As Spring arrives, President Zahorik plans on more trips throughout the state to learn about what matters most to Illinois Democratic County Parties.
