REBUILD ILLINOIS: THE FUSE IS LIT FOR HISTORIC INFRASTRUCTURE PLAN

Illinois is at the crossroads of our nation. Our state is key to getting goods from the East coast to the West coast and commodities from North to South. It’s why a well-maintained transportation network – road, river and rail – is so important. Our state has, unfortunately, failed in fixing our crumbling infrastructure…until Democrats advanced Rebuild Illinois this year.

Rebuild Illinois is a $46 billion infrastructure investment program to transform thousands of miles of roads and bridges in the coming years. In addition, billions will be dedicated to schools, universities and local communities. Smart, energy-efficient building will be among the priorities and partnerships with job creators are some of the incentives for the comprehensive program.

For far too long, Illinois has been bouncing from crisis to crisis. When Governor JB Pritzker took the helm of the state in January, he made a big construction plan his priority, recognizing we can no longer afford the public safety crisis that exists in infrastructure. Thanks to his leadership and the partnership of Democrats who helped to see it through, Rebuild Illinois will revitalize the state – right now, when we need it most.
