Dem County Chairs Announce Party Builder Honorees

Doug House & Pam Davidson named to Class of 2024

Springfield, IL – Today, the Illinois Democratic County Chairs’ Association (IDCCA) announced the remaining members of the Class of 2024 Party Builder Award honorees. The Party Builder Award was established seven years ago to thank those who have shown exceptional dedication to strengthening the Democratic Party. Earlier this year the IDCCA honored Tom Balanoff, President Emeritus of SEIU Local 1, House Assistant Majority Leader Kam Buckner, and Senate Assistant Majority Leader Linda Holmes with the 2024 Party Builder Award.

Adding to the Class of 2024, the IDCCA is excited to announce former IDCCA President Doug House and IDCCA Vice President Pam Davidson have been selected to receive this year’s Party Builder Award, and they will be honored at the 2024 Annual County Chairs’ Brunch on Wednesday, August 14th at the BOS Center in Springfield.

President Mark Guethle released the following statement:

“The Party Builder Award is a small way for us to say thank you to those who have dedicated so much to the Democratic Party. I cannot think of two more deserving people to receive this award than Doug House and Pam Davidson. They have been fighting for our values their entire careers and I am honored to count them among my friends. They know what it takes to build our Party and it is about time we thank them for their efforts.”

Former IDCCA President and former Rock Island County Democratic Party Chair Doug House has led a life of public service. While his focus has been on infrastructure and workforce development, his passion has always been in Democratic politics and union activism. His 44-year career includes retired Deputy Secretary of the Illinois Department of Transportation, former President of the Illinois American Public Works Association, and a 33-year Township elected official. He worked to successfully pass the Safe Roads Amendment and the Worker’s Right Amendment to the Illinois Constitution. In 2023, he was inducted into the AFL-CIO Organized Labor Hall of Fame.

IDCCA Vice President and Knox County Democratic Party Chair Pam Davidson has been known to get into “good trouble” throughout her career. The former Knox County Board Chair and current County Board Member has been a dedicated political activist and community leader in her native home of Galesburg. While employed at John Deere Harvester Works, she is an active member of United Auto Workers Local 865. Expanding her commitment to building the Democratic Party throughout Illinois, in 2022 she was elected State Central Committeewoman for the 17th Congressional District to the Democratic Party of Illinois.
