IDCCA Doubles Down on Campaign Against Mary Miller, Hints at More to Come

Springfield, IL — The Illinois Democratic County Chairs’ Association (IDDCA) announced today that it is extending and expanding its billboard and digital advertising campaign highlighting the governmental failures and inappropriate conduct of Representative Mary Miller.

The campaign first launched earlier this year in Illinois’ 15th Congressional District. IDCCA President Mark Guethle explained why the organization chose to focus its efforts on Miller.

“We’re not going after Mary Miller just because she’s a Republican,” Guethle said. “We launched this because Illinoisans in this district – our neighbors – are struggling. And almost every one of the problems they face were created by or are being blatantly ignored by  Mary Miller. This goes beyond politics or policy. When Illinoisans hire and pay you to do a job, the expectation is that you show up and do it well. If not, you’re gonna lose that job. Simple.”

Geuthle said the support from residents across the district – including voters from both parties – has been overwhelming. “We’ve seen a surge of small dollar donations from folks who have never interacted with our organization; in fact, many of them have no political giving history. Pictures of our billboards and screenshots of our digital ads are popping up on Facebook, Reddit, and in people’s non-political group chats. There’s real organizing power in helping people feel seen – in showing them that they’re not alone. When people learn that their friends, neighbors and coworkers also feel they deserve better, it motivates entire communities to speak up and demand change.”

The IDCCA has extended its contracts for billboards and digital placements, adding new locations and increasing ad inventory to the campaign. President Guethle also hinted at expansion to other parts of the state.

“It’s time for Democrats all over Illinois to ensure that our neighbors in red and purple districts get the support and attention they deserve,” Guethle said. “No seat in this state is unflippable – it’s a matter of resources, organization and attention. We can bring any community together, across party lines, to insist on the accountability and services their tax dollars are supposed to be paying for. We’ve heard from folks in the reddest corners of the state who now want our help bringing attention to the issues in their communities. So there’s more to come…that’s for sure.”

The current location of all billboards in this campaign are:

Christian County – Rt 29, Sharpsburg
DeWitt County – Rt 51 & Rt 54, Clinton
Jersey County – 1499 S State St., Jerseyville
McDonough County – Hwy 136-6, Macomb
Shelby County – Rt 16 East, Shelbyville

Previous locations included:

Adams County – 2445 Broadway, Quincy
Coles County – Charleston Ave & Rt 45, Mattoon
