IDCCA President Mark Guethle Unanimously Re-elected to Lead Statewide Democratic County Chairs

Springfield, IL – The Illinois Democratic County Chairs’ Association (IDCCA) voted unanimously at its general membership meeting Saturday to re-elect current President Mark Guethle to another term. Democratic county chairs from across Illinois’ 102 counties voted to retain Guethle, signaling strong confidence in his leadership as the organization continues strengthening Democratic infrastructure across the state ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

Under Guethle’s leadership, IDCCA has expanded its support for county parties across Illinois by providing training, resources, and strategic assistance to local Democratic organizations working year-round to elect Democrats and engage voters in their communities.

“It means a lot. More than I can say,” President Mark Guethle said following his re-election. “Our Chairs do such incredible work for very little recognition every day, and I’ve tried my best to highlight those efforts and support them however I can. Being elected again feels like our Chairs saying they’ve felt the support I’ve tried to give, and that’s what really matters to me.”

Guethle’s re-election comes as Democrats across Illinois prepare for another critical election cycle. IDCCA has continued expanding communications, organizing, and voter engagement efforts to help county parties build local strength and support Democratic candidates at every level of the ballot.

“From Rockford to Carbondale, Democrats are energized and organized,” Guethle said. “We know what we have to do: protect our majorities, support our local candidates, and give those now-disillusioned Trump voters a vision for the future that actually makes their lives better. It’s our job to make sure every Illinoisan knows that Democrats are the only people fighting for workers’ rights, fighting to make life more affordable, and fighting back against the corruption and chaos of Trump’s MAGA circus.”
