Dem County Chairs to Honor Balanoff, Buckner, and Holmes
With Party Builder Award

Recognizing their outstanding contributions to the Democratic Party throughout Illinois

Springfield, IL – Democrats from throughout Illinois will gather in Chicago on Wednesday, April 24th to celebrate the IDCCA Party Builder Award Class of 2024. This year the Illinois Democratic County Chairs’ Association (IDCCA) established the Party Builder Award in 2017 to honor those who have dedicated themselves to building the Democratic Party throughout Illinois. The Class of 2024 has shown their staunch commitment to our Democratic values and their unwavering support for building the Democratic Party at the grassroots level.

The IDCCA is proud to recognize three deserving honorees for the Class of 2024 – Tom Balanoff (President Emeritus of SEIU Local 1), Assistant House Majority Leader Kam Buckner (26th District), and Assistant Senate Majority Leader Linda Holmes (42nd District).

Today, IDCCA President Mark Guethle released the following statement:

“One of the highest compliments you can give a Democrat is that they give tirelessly to help build our Party. Whether that means knocking on doors for other candidates, recruiting volunteers for a phone bank, or helping to organize a Day of Action. These are things that no one sees but help our Party continue to grow year after year. The Class of 2024 embodies these values and has committed themselves to selflessly doing their part to build the Democratic Party. I am proud to honor Tom, Kam, and Linda with this year’s Party Builder Award.”

Balanoff, Buckner, and Holmes will be honored with the Class of 2024 Party Builder Award on Wednesday, April 24th at the Mid America Regional Council of Carpenters in Chicago.
