IDCCA President’s Message

Dear County Chairs and Friends,
Happy New Year!
I hope the holiday season afforded you respite because the next few months leading into November will be busy. Democrats have an historic opportunity and duty to return our nation to democracy and its American values. The IDCCA welcomes your support, talent, and time in the fight. We have a plan for a successful 2020 and it includes you.
Last month the IDCCA continued to provide training, assisting counties filling their ballot, recommending best practices, and delivering resources. We are also developing two new exciting programs: the 2020 Precinct Program and the Election Integrity Program.
For our county organizations, Democratic candidates, and the Fair Tax to be successful, we need to identify Democratic voters, build our Party, and Get Out the Vote. This is what the 2020 Precinct Program is designed to do. The IDCCA will be working with targeted counties in a door-to-door campaign thru the summer. The IDCCA has already started the Precinct Program by analyzing and sharing important voter and election data with our county parties. You can be a part of this grassroots program by joining us as a volunteer. We will need a variety of helpers, including phone bankers and canvassers. The IDCCA will have a statewide day of action to kick-off the program. Sign up to be a part of the 2020 Precinct Program Day of Action by clicking here.
The other important program is the Election Integrity Program. As I travelled the state last year, I heard concerning election integrity issues. These issues were underscored by the Nov. 21, 2019, explosive remarks by Justin Clark, a senior political adviser and senior counsel to Trump’s re-election campaign. Clark said. “Traditionally it’s always been Republicans suppressing votes in places. Let’s start protecting our voters. We know where they are. … Let’s start playing offense a little bit. That’s what you’re going to see in 2020. It’s going to be a much bigger program, a much more aggressive program, a much better-funded program.” The IDCCA is committed to protecting election integrity. Our 2020 program includes educating our members, training poll watchers and assisting with appointing Democratic Election Judges. We need a variety of volunteers for the Election Integrity Program including Election Judges, poll watchers, hosts for provided training, and lawyers. Finally, as we move into the New Year, I want to extend another thank you for graciously receiving all the funding email requests and your generous responses. There is a lot to do and we need your support to be successful. Because of you, the IDCCA is a robust resource, provides a variety of needed training, and continues to build the Democratic Party. We are building a large, statewide effort to identify Democrats and to ensure that all votes are protected. Can we count on your donation to support these efforts?
I hope you can join me as we move through the 2020 election cycle at IDCCA events and Days of Action. Make sure you visit our website to stay up to date on all of our events and details.
Every Democrat, everywhere counts.
Best wishes,
Kristina
