STATEMENT REGARDING THE PASSING OF FORMER MADISON COUNTY DEMOCRATIC CHAIR JIM STACK

 SPRINGFIELD, IL – The Illinois Democratic County Chairs’ Association (IDCCA) is saddened to learn of the passing of former Madison County Democratic Chair Jim Stack. County Chair Stack served the Madison County Democrats as Chair from June 2012 till April 2014. County Chair Stack also served the citizens of Madison County as a Township Trustee in Collinsville Township and as a Madison County Deputy Coroner. County Chair Stack honorably defended our country during the Vietnam War earning the Navy Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Bronze Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon. County Chair Stack is survived by his wife Karen, two stepchildren, four grandchildren, and a large extended family. He will be missed by his fellow Democratic Chairs, the IDCCA, and Democrats throughout Illinois.

IDCCA President Kristina Zahorik issued the following statement:

“I will be forever grateful for Jim Stack’s service to our country, to Madison County, and to the Democratic Party. I was saddened to hear of his passing last week. He gave so much of himself in his service to his community & our country. There is no doubt that Madison County is a better place because of Jim. My thoughts & prayers go out to his wife, family, and friends.”
