U.S. SENATOR CATHERINE CORTEZ MASTO TO KEYNOTE
ANNUAL COUNTY CHAIRS’ BRUNCH

SPRINGFIELD, IL – The Illinois Democratic County Chairs’ Association (IDCCA) is excited to announce U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (NV) as the keynote speaker for the annual IDCCA County Chairs’ Brunch. Kicking off Governor’s Day at the Illinois State Fair, this year’s Brunch will be held on Wednesday, August 16th at the Bank of Springfield Center.

The County Chairs’ Brunch is the largest annual Democratic event in Illinois and is one of the premiere Democratic events in the Midwest gathering Democratic electeds, County Parties, leaders, grassroots volunteers, activists, and partnership organizations. Previous IDCCA Brunch speakers have included former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (CA), former Presidential candidates U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (MN) and former South Bend, IN Mayor Pete Buttigieg, former Vice-Presidential candidate U.S. Senator Tim Kaine (VA), and newly elected U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff (GA).

Senator Cortez Masto was elected to the United State Senate in 2016 and was reelected in 2022. Her reelection in 2022 helped secure a Democratic majority in the Senate. Prior to being elected US Senator, Cortez Masto served as the Nevada Attorney General.

IDCCA President Kristina Zahorik released the following statement.

“U.S. Senator Cortez Masto continues to make history. She is the first Latina elected to the US Senate in 2016 and was the first to Chair the important 2020 Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee which led to the Democrats taking control of the chamber. Her victory this past November in a tough re-election race ensured a Democratic majority.”

“Senator Cortez Masto knows what it takes for Democrats to win elections. She carries a clear and compelling message of freedom and has always stood up for working families. Given the rising threats to our democracy and push to take our country backwards, she brings an inspiring message to engage Democrats from across the state and our nation.”

This year’s IDCCA County Chairs’ Brunch will take place on Wednesday, August 16, at 9:00am CT at the BOS Center in downtown Springfield.  More information is available at www.ildccabrunch.org.

We invite members of the Illinois & National Press Corp to join us in-person on Wednesday, August 17th. Members of the Press Corp must RSVP for the event.
