Bost and Miller: Politics First, Democracy Second

Springfield, IL — Last night, Illinois Congressional Representatives Mike Bost and Mary Miller voted to object to counting Electoral College votes for the States of Arizona & Pennsylvania. Today President Kristina Zahorik of the Illinois Democratic County Chairs Association (IDCCA) released the following statement:

“Mike Bost. Mary Miller. Illinois voters must remember their names and the day they voted to undermine our governmental institutions and disenfranchise voters across the country.”

“Following Bost and Miller’s vote in the middle of the night, it is clear they are sending a message that they care more about Donald Trump’s bruised ego than our Constitution, the Constitution they swore to uphold just a few days ago. Even after the US Capitol was under siege from a pro-Trump coup d’état attempt, these members voted in lockstep with Trump’s lies. Why? It is an established fact there was no widespread voter fraud. The people have spoken. Joe Biden won. He won even in states with pivotal Electoral College votes, and choosing to discount those votes is tantamount to subverting our Democratic Republic. The voters of Illinois should not and will not forget.”

IDCCA President Kristina Zahorik reiterated her calls for Congresswoman Miller to apologize to the voters of the Illinois 15th & America after Miller publicly stated at a pro-Trump rally that “Hitler was right on one thing”. As of this release, Miller has refused to respond to questions about her remarks.
