Former DuPage County Dem Chair Bob Peickert Passes Away
Chair Peickert shaped DuPage from GOP stronghold to a Democratic powerhouse

Springfield, IL – On Thursday, March 6, 2025, former DuPage County Democratic Party Chair and former Illinois Democratic County Chairs’ Association (IDCCA) Vice President Bob Peickert passed away. Former Vice President Peickert was first elected Chair in 2008 and stepped down in 2019. Over his tenure as the Chair of the second largest Democratic Party in Illinois, he launched the long-term “BluePage” Project that shifted DuPage County from the once reliable Republican county to the Democratic stronghold it is today. IDCCA President Mark Guethle released the following statement in after the news of former Vice President Peickert’s passing:

“To know Bob Peickert was to know one of the most passionate Democrats in Illinois. Bob’s activism and enthusiasm have been and will continue to be felt for years to come. I join all 102 County Democratic Party Chairs in sharing our sympathies with Bob’s family, friends, and all DuPage County Democrats.”
