Statement: Mary Miller Embarrasses Herself, Illinois

Springfield, IL — Today at a rally outside the U.S. Capitol, Illinois Congressional Representative Mary Miller told the crowd “Hitler was right.” President Kristina Zahorik of the Illinois Democratic County Chairs Association (IDCCA) released the following statement:

“When you’re an elected official your words matter. What you say matters. Today, Republican Mary Miller showed us who she really is and what she believes, and that is Adolf Hitler — a genocidal, mass murderer — had ideas she supports.”

“I am aghast at her insensitive, offensive, and ridiculous comments today. This is not a moment of her words being taken out of context. This is a moment where Mary Miller attempted to make a political point by using Adolf Hitler as an example of a leader she thinks had the ‘right’ idea. I am appalled, and Mary Miller should apologize to the people of the 15th District, Illinois, and America. I would suggest she mask-up and take a tour of the Illinois Holucast Museum. I hope her fellow Republican elected officials condemn her remarks, too.”

At a pro-Trump rally in DC, Mary Miller said “Hitler was right on one thing. He said ‘whoever has the youth has the future.’”
